1st February 1915, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 5th February 1915, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 3rd March 1915, appointed Pioneer; 24th February 1916, employed at The British Dyers Ltd, St Andrews Road, Huddersfield, Yorkshire, under the authority of The Ministry Munitions; 1st March 1916, ceases to draw Regimental allowances; 2nd March 1916, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 6th June 1916, returned from employment at The British Dyers Ltd; 14th June 1916, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment.

29th July 1916, discharged as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to sickness. Silver War Badge issued.

19th July 1946, died, County Hospital, Orpington, Kent, myocardial degeneration.
