2nd December 1915, enlisted; 3rd December 1915 to Army Reserve; 3rd April 1917, mobilized & posted Depot, Sherwood Foresters, Service No.83237; 5th April 1917, posted 3rd battalion, Sherwood Foresters; 21st July 1917, transferred to 7th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 19th October 1917, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 19th October 1917 to 5th March 1918, County of Middlesex War Hospital, Nenebury, near St Albans, trench feet, walking well, sensation improved, hands rather shaky, transferred to Convalescent Hospital, Eastbourne; 5th March 1918 to 30th March 1918, Convalescent Hospital, Eastbourne, has had special exercises, discharged fit to furlough; 8th April 1918, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 23rd April 1918, Infantry Base Depot; 24th April 1918, posted 6th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment.

24th March 1919, date when Separation Allowance of 12/6 a week, payable to father, will cease.

Buried at Meaulte Military Cemetery, G. 21., Somme, France.

NOTE: One of 18 members of the 6th Battalion Royal West Kent Regiment who were killed on 24 August 1918. All are now buried in Meaulte Military Cemetery.
