Children - William Charles East, born 25th August 1913, St Mary Cray, Kent; Albert Edward East, born 9th August 1923, 76 Chattenden Road Bromley, Kent, mother Annie Frances East, (nee Gregory), father William East, platelayer.

Home, 1st September 1914 to 31st May 1915; BEF, 1st June 1915 to 10th January 1916; Home, 11th January 1916 to 6th June 1916.

1st September 1914, enlisted ; 3rd September 1914, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 3rd September 1914, posted 6th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 5th April 1915, whilst on active service, overstaying his pass from Tattoo and remaining absent until 9.40pm 6th, admonished, forfeits 2 days pay;

9th January 1916, wounded, gun shot wound, right shoulder; 11th January 1916, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment.

6th June 1916, discharged  as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds. Silver War Badge issued

Pension 25/- a week for 6 months conditional.
