Private William Edward KEMP, G/11268, 8th  Battalion,  Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, died of wounds, (gun shot wound in head), War Hospital, Bohain, Flanders France, 31st March 1918.  

Born Plaistow, Essex,

Enlisted 17th November 1915, Maidstone, Kent, age 29, height 5ft 6 inches.  Resided 1 George St, Maidstone, Kent.  Formerly labourer.

Husband of Ethel Florence Kemp (nee Curtis), 97 Cottenham Road, Holloway. Married 29th December 1915, Register Office, Maidstone, Kent.

Children - William Edward Kemp, born 14th December 1910; Ivy Ethel Kemp, born 4th February 1914; Winifred Clara Kemp, born 19th April 1917, Maidstone, Kent.

Home, 17th November 1915 to 2nd May 1916; BEF, 3rd May 1916 to 13th June 1916; Home, 14th June 1916 to 31st October 1916; BEF, 1st November 1916 to 31st March 1918.

Wounded 9th June 1916, left hand, Court of Enquiry found wound was accidental, due mishandling a detonator.

Buried at Premont British Cemetery, IV. B. 50., France.
