Born Edenbridge,. Kent, enlisted 5th April 1910, Maidstone, Kent, age 18, height 5ft 8¼ inches, weight 146lbs, resided 48 Green Vila Terrace, South Circular Road / 103 Albert Street, Donaldson Road, Newton Heath, Manchester. Formerly brickmakers labourer.

Son of Alfred & Fanny Lock, 3 Railway View, Edenbridge, Kent. Brothers, James Lock & John Lock, 3 Railway View, Edenbridge, Kent.

Husband of Thomasina Lock, (nee Carroll, spinster), married 27th April 1914, St Andrews & St Nicholas within Dublin.

Previously served in 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment. Previously rejected for Service for varicose veins, now out.

Home, 5th April 1910 to 13th August 1914; BEF, 14th August 1914 to 17th September 1914; Home, 18th September 1914 to 15th December 1914.

5th April 1910, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 18th April 1910, posted 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 27th June 1913, deserted; 29th July 1913, rejoined; 8th August 1913, Tried by Court Martial for desertion & deficiencies of kit. Sentenced to 70 days detention & stoppages; 20th August 1913, 28 days detention remitted by order of General Officer Commanding & detention 12th September 1913 to 18th September 1913, remitted for good conduct; 12th September 1913, to Duty; 30th August 1914, wounded, shell wound, right knee; 14th November 1914, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment.

15th December 1914, discharged as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds. Silver War Badge issued.

13th July 1918, enlisted in Manchester into Army Service Corps,T/425547, 665 Company, age 27, height 5ft 10½ inches.

Children - William Lock; Margaret Lock; Elsie May Lock; Francis Lock, born 4th February 1919, Manchester.

9th August 1919, discharged as "no longer physically fit for War Service" disabling gun shot wound right knee (previous engagement) & severe varicose veins both legs, prevents 20%.

Pension, 5/6 a week from 10th August 1919 to 2nd September 1919 then 8/- a week for 54 weeks conditional. Allowances for wife & three children 3/2 a week from 25th August 1919, then 5/11 a week from 3rd September 1919.
