Husband of Ethel Elizabeth Gillingham, (nee Edmead), 10 College Street, Northfleet, Gravesend, Kent. Married 30th March 1918, Northfleet, Gravesend, Kent.

Child - Maurice Thomas Gillingham, born 18th April 1919, Gillingham, Kent.

Half brothers, Henry Johnson, 3 Station Street, Northfleet, Gravesend, Kent ; William Johnson, Springhead Road, Northfleet, Kent.

Home, 7th September 1914 to 25th July 1915; BEF, 26th July 1915 to 9th July 1916; Home, 10th July 1916 to 8th May 1918.

7th September 1914, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 9th September 1914, posted 7th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 2nd July 1916, wounded, gun shot wound, left leg; 8th July 1916, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 12th February 1918, Central Hospital, Chatham, on furlough until admitted to Roehampton; 17th April 1918, Roehampton Hospital, discharge approved.

8th May 1918, discharged  as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds. Silver War Badge issued

Pension, 27/6 a week for 9 weeks; then 13/9 a week for life.

26th August 1920 letter from Mrs Ethel Elizabeth Gillingham, 10 College Street, Northfleet, Gravesend, Kent saying husband passed away on 9th November 1919.
