20th May 1915, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 26th May 1915, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 1st October 1915, posted 8th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment & BEF; 6th April 1916, wounded, gun shot wound; 27th April 1916, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 19th August 1916, posted 9th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 1st September 1916, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment.
11th October 1916, discharged as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds. Silver War Badge issued
Pension 18/9 a week for 6 months conditional.
