26th December 1914, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 31st December 1914, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 12th May 1915, posted BEF & 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 22nd July 1916, wounded, gun shot wound, left foot; 29th August 1916, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment.
26th July 1917, discharged as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds. Silver War Badge issued.
Pension, 27/6 a week to be reviewed in 13 week, disability, gun shot wound, left leg amputated.
