28th February 1916, enlisted; 29th February 1916, to Army Reserve, Class "B"; 12th April 1916, mobilized & posted 3/1 Suffolk Yeomanry, Service No.2624;

8th August 1916, Memo from Camp Detention Hospital to Office in Charge 3/1 Suffolk Yeomanry - "Please arrange for No.2624. Private Skeggles to attend for his spectacles at The Military Hospital, Grammar School, Aylesbury at 9.30am tomorrow Wednesday August 9th. Haversack rations should be taken."
