Private Stephen Edward PHYALL, G/386, 6th Battalion,  Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, killed in action, Flanders France, 3rd July 1916.

Born Wrotham, Malling, Kent, enlisted 27th August 1914, Tonbridge, Kent, age 19, height 5ft 5 inches. Formerly labourer.

Commemorated at Thiepval Memorial, Pier & Face 11C, France.


London Gazette 14th September 1916.

His Majesty the KING has been graciously pleased to award the Military Medal for bravery in the field to the under mentioned:

386 Pte. S. E. Phyall, Royal West Kent Regiment.
