2nd September 1914, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 5th September 1914, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 15th February 1916, posted Indian Expeditionary Force & 2nd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 15th February 1918, posted India, & 2nd Reserve Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 25th April 1918, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment.
16th July 1918, discharged as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to sickness. Silver War Badge issued.
Pension, 27/6 a week for 26 weeks to be reviewed.
