Born Willesden, Middlesex, NW, enlisted 8th December 1915, Gillingham, Kent, age 35, height 5ft 9 inches, weight 165lbs, resided 21 Marlboro Road, Gillingham, Kent.  Formerly groundsman club.

Son of Mrs Elizabeth Francis, 21 Marlboro Road, Gillingham, Kent

Postings - Home, 8th December 1915 to 21st June 1916; BEF, 22nd June 1916 to 4th September 1916; Home, 5th September 1916 to 7th December 1916; BEF, 8th December 1916 to 4th October 1917.

Wounded 15th July 1916. Wounded, shrapnel wound to right shoulder, 1st September 1916, 2nd Western General Hospital, 6th September 1916 to 13th October 1916.

Commemorated at  Tyne Cot Memorial, Panel 106 to 108, Zonnebeke, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.

In pursuance of “The Regimental Debts Acts 1893” notice is hereby given that there is available for distribution amongst the Next of Kin or others entitled the sum of money set opposite to the name of each of the deceased Soldiers named in the lists which are published with this notice in the London Gazette and the “Army List” and are also to be seen at the Regimental Depots throughout the United Kingdom.

Applications from persons supposing themselves entitled as Next of Kin should be addressed by letter to Secretary, War Office, Imperial Institute, South Kensington, London, SW7 and marked outside “Effects”
