29th April 1887, born 157 Perth Road, St Leonards, Sussex, son of Charles and Harriet Stapley, of Hastings, Sussex.

6th June 1908, St Matthew, St Leonards on Sea, Sussex, married Louisa Emily Freeman, (born 8th December 1885), Caldbec Hill, Battle, Sussex.

Children - Frank Richard Stapley, born 8th March 1909, Battle Sussex.

1911 Census - The Cottage, Old Roar, Silverhill Park, St Leonards on Sea, Sussex - Percy Edward Stapley, head, age 24, married, domestic gardener, worker, born Hastings, Sussex; Louisa Stapley, wife, age 25,. married 3 years, 1 child, still alive, born Hastings, Sussex; Frank Richard Stapley, son, age 2, born Hastings, Sussex.

Children - Frederick Charles Stapley, born 26th February 1913, Battle, Sussex; John (Jack) Joffre Stapley, born 1st January 1915, Battle Sussex; Violet Ethel Louise Stapley, born 26th September 1916, Battle, Sussex.

Enlisted Hastings, Sussex.  Resided, Battle, Sussex.

Buried  at Dernancourt Communal Cemetery Extension, VIII. D. 20., France. Hastings War Memorial.
