18th April 1913, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 23rd June 1913, Maidstone, inattention on Parade, 7 days confined to Barracks; 5th August 1914, mobilized; 22nd August 1914, Chatham, breaking out of Barracks & remaining absent until apprehended by Military Police about 10.50am, 14 days confined to Barracks; 12th September 1914, Lodge Hill, absent from 4.30pm until apprehended by Civil Police at Greenwich on 15th inst, deprived of 8 days pay & 7 days confined to Barracks; 17th September 1914, forfeits 12 days pay for absence; 21st September 1914, Fort Darland, drunk & creating a disturbance about 9.40pm, 7 days confined to Barracks; 24th September 1914, Fort Darland, reporting sick without a cause, 7 days confined to Barracks; 23rd October 1914, Fort Twydall, whilst on active service, deserting HM Service, 112 days detention; 6th March 1915, Fort Darland, overstaying his pass from 9.30am till 1.15am on 8th inst, forfeits 3 days pay for absence & awarded 14 days Field Punishment No.2. by Commanding Officer; 11th March 1915, posted 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 13th March 1915, BEF; 21st May 1915, awarded 14 days Field Punishment No.2. ; 27th May 1915. wounded, gun shot wound in back; 12th June 1915 to 6th September 1915, King George Hospital, gun shot wound to chest & left arm & paraplegia

31st August 1915, discharged  as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds.  Silver War Badge issued

29th June 1920, Blackheath, enlisted into 20th Battalion, London Regiment. 1921 Annual Training, absent without leave. 28th June 1923, discharged at end of engagement.
