26th February 1916, enlisted; 27th February 1916, to Army Reserve; 4th April 1916, mobilized; 7th April 1916, posted 9th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 21st May 1916, Shoreham, overstaying pass from midnight until midnight 22nd May 1916, 3 days confined to Camp, forfeits 1 days pay; 11th June 1916, Shoreham. overstaying pass from from midnight until midnight 12th June 1916, 7 days confined to Camp, forfeits 1 days pay; 31st August 1916, posted BEF; 31st August 1916, Infantry Base Depot; 12th October 1916, transferred to England ex No.1. General Hospital, per Hospital Ship, "Asturias", shrapnel wound left thigh; 17th October 1916, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 17th October 1916 to 27th March 1917, Military Hospital, Lewisham, gun shot wound right thigh, slight, large m.f. removed from buttock, x-rays seemed to show it in the hip joint which was explored by incision; 7th April 1917 to 25th May 1917, Eastern Command Depot, Shoreham by Sea, shrapnel wound, right hip, has had a course of drills & marching; 5th May 1917, Eastern Command Depot, Shoreham by Sea, stating a falsehood to an NCO, 4 days confined to Barracks; 14th May 1917, marked fit by Standing Medical Board, Eastern Command Depot; 26th May 1917, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 4th June 1917 to 7th June 1917, Chatham Hospital, gonorrhea, to Barnwell, Cambridge;  7th June 1917 to 26th July 1917, Barnwell Military Hospital, Cambridge, gonorrhea, returned to Duty; 26th August 1917, posted Egyptian Expeditionary Force, & 2nd/4th  Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment, & embarked; 18th September 1917, Alexandria, disembarked; 6th October 1917, joined 2nd/4th  Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment, In the Field.
