30th August 1914, enlisted; 2nd September 1914, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 2nd September 1914, posted 6th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 11th January 1916, 38 Field Ambulance, influenza; 14th January 1916 to 36 Field Ambulance; 21st January 1916, rejoined Battalion.

22nd January 1917 death registered - 18th January 1917, Church Lane, Seal Road, Sophia Julia Booker, age 58, wife of Alfred Evey Booker a general labourer, cause of death (1) Cerebral embolism, 1 hour (2) Mitral Disease, 3 years. Informant E E Booker, daughter, present at death, Church Lane, Seal.

4th September 1918? letter from A E Booker, Church Road, Seal Sevenoaks, Kent - "I am sorry not being able to attend to your previous letter being away on business the said 520 Pte J W Booker, of the R.W.Kents being my brother & as far as I know no will was left by him both parents being deceased & being the next of kin to him should be pleased with the medals awarded to the same should you need any further particulars I will gladly oblige".
