Enlisted 28th December 1914, Maidstone, Kent, age 32, height 5ft 3 inches, resided Bansak Road, Wolsey Road, Yalding, Kent. Formerly labourer.

28th December 1914, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 5th January 1915, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 21st April 1915, posted BEF & 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 31st May 1915, wounded, gun shot wound, left hip; 15th June 1915, to England; 7th August 1915, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 12th August 1915, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 25th March 1916, posted 1st Home Station Garrison Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment.

22nd May 1916, discharged  as ""no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds Silver War Badge issued.

Pension, 18/9 a week for 6 months conditional.

20th December 1916, Royal Service Battery,  Hospital, Margate, Kent; 18th March 1917, Royal Service Battery,  Hospital, Margate, Kent; 15th July 1921, 10 Grotto Gardens, Margate, Kent.
