10th November 1915, enlisted; 11th November 1915, transferred to Army Reserve; 19th June 1917, mobilized; 20th June 1917, posted 4th Gloucester Regiment; 2nd November 1917, embarked Southampton; 3rd November 1917, disembarked Harvre; 4th November 1917, posted 15th Gloucester Regiment; 7th November 1917, posted 14th Gloucester Regiment; 19th February 1918, transferred to 12 Entrenching Battalion; 1st April 1918, attached 7th Royal West Kent Regiment; 23rd July 1918, posted 12th Gloucester Regiment; 6th August 1918, transferred to Royal West Kent Regiment, 7th Battalion, allotted number 21526; 27th August 1918, wounded in action, admitted 56 Field Ambulance; 28th August 1918, admitted 10 General Hospital, Rouen; 30th August 1918, transferred to UK, Hospital Ship Panama; 31st August 1918, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment.

4th February 1919, discharged  as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds.  Silver War Badge issued

Medical Report, Date of original disability 27th August 1918, Albert, France, gun shot wound of chest & left buttock operated on CCS then transferred Rouen admitted Regents Park Hospital Southampton, 31st August 1918. Wounds now healed, scar firm. Attributable to Service.Disability.20%.

Pension of 5/6 a week for 52 weeks, 1/4 for child, Nora Ethel Bint. Disability.20%, gun shot wound chest & left buttock.  21st November 1919, Medical Board, less than 20%, final gratuity of £30, pension expires 3rd February 1920.
