Private John Herbert JONES, 203027, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment.

Born 1889, Shrewsbury, enlisted 31st August 1916, age 25, height 5ft 6¾ inches, weight 117lbs. Formerly invoice clerk.

18th May 1917 to 21st June 1917, West Cliff Canadian Eye & Ear Hospital, Folkestone, Kent, acute sup. otitis Media right; 21st June 1917, Shorncliffe Military Hospital, acute sup. otitis Media right, discharged to unit & Duty; 15th August 1917 to 29th August 1917, Rusthall Hospital, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, boils; 26th June 1918, East Leeds War Hospital, Leeds, nephritis.

17th December 1918, Leeds, Medical Board - 7th September 1916, Liverpool, examined on enlistment had rheumatics. On careful examination heart unaffected; 14th August 1918, nephritis developed, enlarged heart, attributed to Active Service, disability 60%.

17th December 1918, discharged  as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds. Silver War Badge issued

26th March 1919, Liverpool - disability 40%.

27th October 1920, physique poor, slightly anaemic, teeth satisfactory, wears upper denture, H&L normal, arteries normal, all movements including back normal, no tender spots, nervous system normal, no organic or functioning disease of heart, less than 20%.
