Born Waterford, Cork, enlisted 8th September 1914, Fulham, age 30, height 5ft 6 inches, weight 112lbs, resided 19 Lurgan Avenue, Fulham Palace Road, London, SW. Formerly silversmith.

Husband of Alice Maud Crawley, (nee Heales), 74 Yeldam Road, Fulham, SW. Married 25th December 1906, St Marks, London.

Child - James Alfred Crawley, born 30th October 1907, Holborn.

Home, 8th September 1914 to 29th August 1915; BEF, 30th August 1915 to 6th April 1916; Home, 7th April 1916 to 8th August 1917.

8th September 1914, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 12th September 1914, posted 8th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 4th April 1915, Redhill, not complying with an order, missing at Church Parade at 8.30am, 3 days confined to Barracks; 17th May 1915, Shoreham, overstaying his pass from midnight till midnight 18th, 7 days confined to Barracks, forfeits 1 days pay; 11th August 1915, Blackdown, overstaying his pass from 11.00pm till  5.30am 13th, admonished, forfeits 3 days pay; 7th April 1916, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 26th June 1916 to 25th August 1916, Fulham Military Hospital, DAH, heart still rapid, care required before returning him to duty as he is liable to indulge alcohol; 25th August 1916 to 18th December 1916, Military Hospital;, Hampstead, DAH; 18th July 1917, Special Medical Board, 78 Lancaster Gate, Hyde Park, discharge approved.

8th August 1917, discharged  as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds. Silver War Badge issued

Pension, 16/6 a week S.M.B. to be reviewed in 17 weeks, disability shell shock, DAH (disorderly action of the heart).
