5th June 1916, discharged as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to sickness. Silver War Badge issued

Disability, epilepsy. Originated time of childhood. First attack while in Service October 1914 at Cliffe on Hoo. He had intermittent seizures at first, frequent intervals. General condition good. Not result of & not aggravated by Military Service. Permanent, prevents 25% permanently. 20th July 1916, Miss Mary Freeth for SFA Appeals appeals for pension for man. 12th September 1916, man states he was gassed 16th May 1915 at Ypres. He has been under the Dr. for treatment ever since he has been out of the Army. 27th September 1916, No. 5 Infantry Section, 3rd Echelon states, man's statement is not substantiated by the records in this office. 17th November 1916, states he had a fit on the 21st October. This is the only one since discharge. He has been under treatment ever since discharge as out patient at Guys Hospital. Permanent but could be curtailed by continual treatment. Prevents 25%. Average weekly wage - nil. Present weekly wage - nil. 27th November 1916, Medical Board states, mans present condition may be regarded as aggravated by Service since the declaration of War. Prevents 25%. 29th January 1917, report of Medical Board, Prevents 25%. For 6 months, then if no further fit, no disability. 5/6 a week and 1/6 a week for four children, expires 5th September 1917. April 1917, claim to revision, increase to 8/5 a week and 4/6 for four children from 4th April 1917, expires 5th September 1917. 12th June 1917, letter from man applying for increase in pension. 24th July 1917, report of Medical Board, no incapacity from epilepsy. 27th November 1918, notified that pensioner had died 29th October 1918.
