Previously served in Kent Cyclists Battalion, H Company.

Enlisted, Hythe, Kent, age 22 years & 1 month, height 5ft 3¾ inches, weight 8st 8½ lbs, scar right eyelid, right eyesight weak, scar outside left forearm, dark complexion, light brown eyes, dark brown hair.  Resided Hythe, Kent. Formerly cellarman.

Buried at  Dartmoor Cemetery, I. C. 16., Becordel-Becourt, Somme, France.  Also commemorated at St Leonard's School, Hythe, Kent.
