Enlisted Exeter, Devon, age 20, height 5ft 8 inches, weight137lbs. Formerly greengrocer / market gardener & Licensed holder.

Home 18th November 1915 to 11th September 1917; BEF, 12th September 1917 to 4th October 1917.

18th November 1915, enlisted; 18th November 1915, to Army Reserve; 25th April 1916, mobilized; 1st May 1916, posted 2/5th Royal West Kent Regiment, No.4219 7th February to 15th February 1917, Kennington Hospital; 12th September 1917, Folkestone, embarked; 12th September 1917, Boulogne, disembarked; 12th September 1917, arrived at 40 Infantry Base Depot, Etaples; 12th September 1917,posted to 3/4th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 16th September 1917, posted 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 18th September 1917, joined Battalion; 18th September 1917, losing by neglect, his cap badge, deprived of 1 days pay; 4th October 1917, wounded & missing.
