Enlisted Chatham, Kent, age 20 years & 8 months, height 5ft 4¼ inches, weight 126lbs, right inguinal hernia, requires truss.  Resided 7 Ball Cottages, Upper Higham, Kent. Formerly roadman.

9th December 1915, enlisted; 10th December 1915, to Army Reserve; 8th February 1916, mobilized; 9th February 1916, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 2nd May 1916, Chatham, not complying with an order, stating a falsehood, using obscene language to an NCO, 7 days Field Punishment No.2.; 3rd  June 1916, Fort Darland, absent from Tattoo until 11.15am on 5th June, forfeits 6 days pay, forfeits 3 days pay; 7th June 1916, Fort Darland, being deficient of an entrenching tool ???? on guard mounting at 2.00pm, 5 days confined to Barracks; 22nd June 1916, Fort Darland, dirty equipment on Parade at 8.40am, dirty on guard mounting at 2.00pm, 3 days confined to Barracks; 17th July 1916, posted BEF, & embarked; 18th July 1916, 40 Infantry Base Depot, Etaples; 27th July 1916, joined "B" Company, 6th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 13th September 1916, Casualty Clearing Station, diarrhea; 30th September 1916, 40 Infantry Base Depot, Etaples; 7th October 1916, transferred to 7th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 16th February 1917, Telegram to Hounslow Records Office, No.2. Canadian General Hospital, Le Treport, reports 12020 Pte Cooper H. 7/ R.W.Kents dangerously ill, gun shot wound neck, may be visited , follow usual procedure case at public expense; 18th February 1917, Telegram Records Office, neither father or mother able to visit 12020 Pte Harry Cooper.
