Born Pimlico, Middlesex, enlisted 22nd February 1915, Finsbury Barracks, age 35, height 5ft 2 inches, weight 137lbs, resided 11 Endive Place, Limehouse, E. Formerly painter.
Next of Kin - Ada Ellen Abbott (on enlistment living with Boyd as his wife), 11 Endive Place, Limehouse, E. Married 31st March 1915, Stepney as Henry BOYLE, see NOTE below.
Previously served 9 years 10 months with 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Militia, discharged medically unfit about 1907.
22nd February 1915, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 27th February 1915, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 5th August 1916, transferred to 1st Home Station Garrison Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 7th December 1916, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment.
29th May 1917, discharged as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to sickness. Silver War Badge issued.
Pension 8/3 a week for 26 weeks, conditional.
NOTE: 5th June 1917 - I Henry Boyle do solemnly and sincerely declare that I was enlisted on 22nd February 1915 under the name of Henry Boyd, which name I now declare to be incorrect. The name of Henry Boyle, contained in the accompanying birth certificate, I now declare to be my true name, and I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions of an act made and passed in the sixth year of the reign of King William the Fourth, Chapter 62, entitle Statutory Declarations Act 1835
