25th October 1915, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent  Regiment; 25th October 1915, posted 10th Battalion, Royal West Kent  Regiment; 3rd May 1916, posted BEF; 12th February 1917, posted Depot, Royal West Kent  Regiment; 21st May 1917, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent  Regiment; 14th June 1917, posted BEF & 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent  Regiment; 3rd July 1917, posted 11th Battalion, Royal West Kent  Regiment; 8th August 1917, posted Depot, Royal West Kent  Regiment; 10th April 1918, County of Middlesex War Hospital.

7th May 1918, discharged  as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to sickness. Silver War Badge issued

Pension 27/6 a week for 4 weeks, then 11/- for 22 weeks, disability, mental instability.
