Private Hugh Albert BARDEN, L/8358, 2nd  Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment,  died, Mesopotamia Expeditionary Force, 31st  August 1916, age 28.

Born Deptford, SE, son of Richard Barden, of 16, Blackhorse Road, Deptford, London, and the late Jane Barden.

Enlisted Woolwich, Kent.

1st February 1915, posted Indian Expeditionary Force.


1911 Census - India - Hugh Albert Barden, musician, age 23, born Deptford, Kent, 2 Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment.


1919, Probate - BARDEN Hugh Albert of 16, Blackhorse Road, Deptford, Kent Private Royal West Kent Regiment, died between 29th April 1916 and the 5th May 1918 at Marden in Turkey on active service Administration London 26th April to Richard Barden dock labourer. Effects £104 9s 10d.

Commemorated at Basra Memorial, Panel 29, Iraq.
