Son of Frederick Fowler, 19 Bellevue Road, Hendon, Middlesex.

Home, 14th September 1914 to 28th September 1915; Salonika, 29th September 1915 to 20th February 1916; Home, 21st February 1916 to 6th December 1916.

14th September 1914, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 24th October 1914, posted 9th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 2nd April 1915, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 29th September 1915, posted 2nd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment & Indian Expeditionary Force; 15th October 1915, attached Royal Dublin Fusiliers; 1st December 1915, Balkans, to Hospital, frost bite both feet, right foot amputated; 12th February 1916, Malta, to England, Hospital Ship Karapara; 20th February 1916 to 24th July 1916, New End Section, Military Hospital, Hampstead, NW, frost bite, right foot amputated, there is still a small discharge, otherwise the stump is satisfactory; 21st February 1916, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 24th July 1916 to 24th October 1916, Military Hospital, Brighton, transferred to Roehampton; 24th October 1916 to 16th November 1916, Queen Marys Convalescent Hospital, Roehampton, amputated right leg, artificial limb provided.

15th November 1916, Medical Board, The King George Hospital, London, SE, unfit for both War & Home Service, artificial limb supplied.

6th December 1916, discharged as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds. Silver War Badge issued

Pension, 25/- a week for 2 months, then 10/6 a week for life.
