Private George Benjamin SCEATS, 19305, (2703), Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment.

Born Hammersmith, enlisted 25th October 1914, Bromley, Kent, resided 14 Balfour Road, Bromley Common, Kent. Formerly postman.

Previously served RAMC, time expired.

25th October 1914, enlisted & posted 5th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 27th June 1915, posted Provisional Battalion, 71; 29th April 1916, posted Provisional Battalion, 69; 4th November 1916, posted 4th Reserve Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 13th January 1917, attached 1/20th Battalion, London Regiment; 15th January 1917, posted 6th Battalion,  Royal West Kent Regiment; 11th February 1917, posted Depot,  Royal West Kent Regiment; 11th February 1917, Military Hospital, Endell Street, WC, valvular disease of the heart; 1st March 1917, Military Hospital, Endell Street, WC, Medical Report, had rheumatic fever in 1884, has suffered from rheumatism every winter, sent to hospital at Le Treport January 1917, easily exhausted, systolic murmur. 75% disablement; 12th March 1917, posted 3rd Battalion,  Royal West Kent Regiment.

1st May 1917, discharged  as ""no longer physically fit for War Service" due to sickness Silver War Badge issued. Transferred to Class "P" Army Reserve.

8th September 1917, Chatham, Kent, Medical Report - organic disease of the heart is present, heart is irregular, evidence of myocardial degeneration. 75% disablement.

26th February 1918, Final Discharge.

20th September 1918, no organic disease of the heart, mitral systolic murmur, not conducted, no enlargement of heart & functional. 60% disablement.

3rd April 1919, no organic disease of the heart, dysphroea is improved, general physique good, no tremor. 30% disablement.

4th February 1920, Chelsea,  under nourished, heart not enlarged, no evidence of structural disease, 30% disablement, 12/-.

22nd March 1921, Chelsea, nothing but nervousness, heart not enlarged, has put on weight
