Private Francis Walter PENNEY, G/10665, 7th Battalion,  Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, died whilst a Prisoner of War, Germany, 2nd July 1918, age 25.

Born Kennington, SE, son of Walter Barnes Penney and Lilllan Charlotte Penney, of 127, Malpas Road., Brockley, London. 

Enlisted 3rd November 1915, Deptford, SE, age 23, height 5ft 5 inches.  Resided 127 Malpas Road, Brockley, SE. Formerly clerk.

21st to 28th March 1918, posted missing.

2nd July 1918, died in Camp Hospital, at Stendal from intestinal catarrh, whilst a Prisoner of War.

Buried at Berlin South-Western Cemetery, I. A. 1., Germany, relocated from Stendal Prisoner of War Cemetery, in Prussian Saxony, which contained the graves of 140 soldiers from the United Kingdom, two from Canada and one from Newfoundland, who died in 1917-1918.
