Enlisted  Gravesend, Kent, age 25, height 5ft 4 inches, 133lbs. Diagnosed with chronic orchitis right testicle, but later found no enlargement & no pain.  Resided 7 Union Street, Gravesend, Kent. Formerly labourer.

9th December 1915, enlisted; 10th December 1915, to Army Reserve; 31st March 1916, mobilized; 1st September 1916, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 13th September 1916, posted BEF;  13th September 1916, embarked; 29th September 1916, joined Battalion; 7th October 1916, posted missing.

25th June 1917, pension awarded  of  26/3 a week for widow and three children.
