Husband of Alice Elizabeth Ruth, Aubrey, (nee Hurley),  30 Sturdon Road,  Ashton Gates, Bristol. Married 22nd May 1915, St Pauls Church, Belvoir, Bristol.

Child - Joan Evelyn Ruth Aubrey, born 3rd April 1916, Bristol.

15th November 1915, enlisted; 16th November 1915, to Army Reserve;  12th May 1916, mobilized and posted to 3/4th Royal West Kent Regiment; 14th November 1916, posted to 4th Reserve Battalion; 30th December 1916, posted 7th Battalion; 22nd February 1917, Le Treport, 16 General Hospital, whitlow right hand; 29th March 1917, joined Base Depot; 6th April 1917, proceeded to join Battalion; 12th October 1917, wounded in action, 64 Casualty Clearing Station, gun shot wound right thigh; 16th October 1917, to England on Princess Elizabeth; 9th December 1917 to 18th December 1917, furlough from hospital; 13th February 1918, embarked; 20th February 1918, joined Battalion; 2nd July 1918, missing in action; 12th October 1918, London, repatriated wounded.

25th January1919, discharged  as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds (100% disability, gun shot wound to head, blind in both eyes). Silver War Badge issued.

Pension of 27/6 from 26th January1919, for life; 6/8 a week for children, as long as eligible; 20% bonus.

12th March 1920, letter to War Office from Blinded Soldiers & Sailors Hostel, St Dunstan's, Hanover Gate, Regents Park, NW1. - I have the honour to apply to you for Kings Discharge Certificate on behalf of the following man, a blinded soldier of this hostel:- 24582, Pte F R Aubrey, 7th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment. I put in an application on behalf of this man a year ago but up till now he has not received it. I shall be obliged if you will forward this either to me or to him at the above address.
