Born Gravesend, Kent, enlisted 7th September 1915, Gravesend, Kent, age 21, height 5ft 7 inches, weight 120lbs, resided 10 Woolwich Road, Belvedere, Kent/ The Walnuts, Albert Road, Belvedere, Kent. Formerly labourer.

Son of Milton & Adelaide Beck, 3 Queens Road, Gravesend, Kent. Brother Albert Beck, The Angel, Lambeth Walk, SE.

Home, 7th September 1914 to 25th July 1915; BEF, 26th July 1915 to 14th July 1916; Home, 15th July 1916 to 4th May 1917.

7th September 1914, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 10th September 1914, posted 7th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 26th July 1915, posted BEF; 15th July 1916, wounded & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 16th July 1916 to 7th December 1916, 3rd Western General Hospital, Cardiff, gun  shot wound to thigh & shell shock; 8th December 1916 to 27th February 1917, Royal Herbert Hospital, Woolwich.

4th May 1917, discharged  as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds.  Silver War Badge issued.

Pension, 27/6 a week for 26 weeks conditional.
