Enlisted 18th March 1916, Chichester, resided 6 Warblington, Terrace, Havant, Nr Portsmouth, Hampshire. Formerly labourer.
22nd January 1917, Medical Report on an Invalid, Pier Road, Gillingham - disability, debility, origin not ascertainable, this man states he has always been in poor health and has not been able to continue any work for a prolonged time, since he enlisted he has been worse and only capable of very light occasional duty, such as sweeping rooms etc. He is of poor physical development, has contracted thorax, impaired breathing, hammer toes upon balls feet, quite unfit for military service. Discharge as permanently unfit. On discharge, age 35, height 5ft 4 inches.
24th May 1917, discharged as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to sickness. Silver War Badge issued
Gratuity of £25.
