Son of Frederick Jacobs.

10th August 1914, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 12th August 1914, posted 6th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 11th January 1915,Hythe, absent from Tattoo until 8.30am the 18th inst. deprived 8 days pay & forfeits 8 days pay, by Commanding Officer, for absence, confined to Barracks for 14 days; 21st January 1916, In the Field, absent from 8.00pm till 11.30pm, 7 days confined to Barracks, forfeits 1 days pay; 17th February 1916, In the Field, creating a disturbance, not complying with an order, 10 days confined to Barracks; 17th March 1916, wounded, gun shot wound, right leg; 17th March 1916, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment.
20th September 1916, Orderly Room, Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment - report of a deserter, believed to be hop picking at Stone Hill Farm, Chilham, Kent, deserted 7th September 1916, Maidstone Hospital, this man enlisted in the name of Frederick Finn yet I have every reason to believe him to be Frederick Jacobs as his wife signs her name Mrs Jacobs, wife of No32. Pte Frederick Finn, absented himself from hospital leave. If found please arrest him and notify me.
29th November 1916, discharged as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds. Silver War Badge issued
Pension 18/9 a week for 6 months conditional.
