24th February 1913, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 29th May 1913, passed class of Instruction Swimming; 4th July 1913, posted 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 19th November 1914, wounded, slight wound, shell wound, left foot; 6th January 1915, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 1st May 1915, posted 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 24th June 1915, wounded; 24th September 1915, appointed Drummer; 30th September 1916, deprived of 7 days pay; 12th October 1916, deprived of 28 days pay; 15th August 1917, wounded; 6th June 1918, wounded; 13th June 1918, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment.
10th March 1919, discharged as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds Silver War Badge issued.
Pension, 11/- a week for 26 weeks, conditional. Disability, gun shot wound, left leg, prevents 40%.
