3rd July 1915, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 10th July 1915, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 15th November 1915, Fort Darland, having dirty equipment on Parade, 3 days confined to Barracks; 14th December 1915, posted BEF & 6th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 17th March 1916, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 14th May 1916, Fort Darland, absent off Guard Mounting Parade, 3 days Field Punishment No.2.; 4th July 1916, Fort Darland, Whilst on Active Service, disobeying an order, 5 days confined to Barracks; 30th August 1916, Infantry Base Depot, Etaples; 25th September 1916, wounded, gun shot wound, left knee; 28th September 1916, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 7th November 1916 to 30th December 1916,  Eastern Command Depot, Shoreham by Sea, Sussex, has had leg drill treatment & marching while at this Depot; 30th December 1916, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 15th March 1917, posted MEF & 2nd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 25th April 1919, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 26th April 1919 to 7th May 1919, 2/1st Southern General Hospital, Dudley Road, Birmingham, neurasthenia; 23rd May 1919, Ashurst War Hospital, Littlemore.

31st May 1919, discharged  as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to sickness Silver War Badge issued.

Pension, 13/9 a week for 26 weeks conditional. Disability neurasthenia, prevents 50%.

13th April 1921, enlisted at Chatham, Kent into 5th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment, Defence Force, 338, age 22, height 5ft 10 inches, next of kin (grandmother), Mrs Whitehouse, 22 Charles Street, Strood, Kent. 3rd May 1921, appointed Acting Lance Corporal. 4th July 1921, discharged.
