17th July 1915, enlisted & posted 10th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 3rd May 1916, embarked for BEF; 8th January 1917, posted 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 16th April 1917, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 8th December 1917, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment.
31st January 1918, discharged as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds. Silver War Badge issued
Pension, 27/6 a week from 1st February 1918 to 5th March 1918, then 8/3 a week.
