Private Frederick Charles NORRIS, 201015,  2nd/4th Battalion,  Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, killed in action, at the gates of Gaza, Egypt, 19th April 1917, age 26.

Born 13th August 1890, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, only Son of Charles Norris, (gardener), and Harriett, (daughter of Alfred Mercer), of 5, Windmill St., Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

Educated St Paters Elementary School, Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

Enlisted September 1914, Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Resided Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Formerly grocers assistant.

Served with the Expeditionary Force in Palestine, from 2nd July 1916.

His Captain wrote: "He is a great loss to my Company & the Battalion, and his death is felt greatly by his many friends, as he was loved and respected by everyone who knew him."

Unmarried.

Commemorated at Jerusalem Memorial, Panel 41, Israel.
