9th September 1914, posted 7th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 3rd July 1916, wounded, gun shot wound left thigh; 3rd July 1916, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 2nd October 1916, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 14th April 1917, posted 2nd/5th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 17th September 1917, posted 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 4th October 1917, wounded, gun shot wound left shoulder, humerous severe; 1st November 1917, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment.
20th January 1919, discharged as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds. Silver War Badge issued
Pension of 16/6 a week from 21st January 1919 for 60% disability then 13/9 for 50% disability, gun shot wound shoulder. To be reviewed in 26 weeks.
