Private Edward CHICK, G/24685, 6th  Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, (formerly 5314, East Surrey Regiment), killed in action, at Monchy-le-Preux, Flanders France, 12th April 1917.

3rd December 1878, born Taunton, Somerset, son of  Henry & Mary Ann Chick.

1915, December Quarter, Caterham, Surrey, married Annie Avis Nash, (daughter of John Nash), 14 London Road, Caterham, Surrey.

Child - Stanley Edward Chick, born 26th June 1907.

1911 Census - 72 High Street, Upper Caterham, Surrey - Edward Chick, head, age 31, married, asylum attendant, M.A.B., born Taunton, Somerset; Annie Avis Chick, wife, age 27, married 5 years, 1 child, born Caterham, Surrey; Stanley Edward Chick, son, age 3, born Caterham, Surrey.

1st July 1916, London, enlisted.  Resided Caterham, Surrey.

 January 1917, posted BEF.

Commemorated at  Arras Memorial, Bay 7, Pas de Calais, France.
