Previously served in 3rd Battalion, Special Reserve, Royal West Kent Regiment, No.3544, from 27th February 1901 to 16th April 1901.

Enlisted 17th April 1901, New Cross, SE, age 18, height 5ft 5¾ inches, weight 115lbs, fresh complexion, blue eyes, red hair, indistinct tattoo marks left forearm, anchor & two dots right forearm. Formerly carman & labourer in building trade.

24th September 1910, Greenwich Register Office, married Harriett Elizabeth Dalley, spinster.  Deceased 1912, March Quarter, Greenwich, age 22.
