Born Deptford, Kent, enlisted 18th October 1907, Woolwich, age 18, height 5ft 3 inches, weight 112lbs. Formerly greengrocers assistant.

Previously served in 3rd Battalion, Militia, Royal West Kent Regiment.

Son of Cornelius & Mary Bresnahan, 50 Chuch Street, Deptford.

Husband of Mary Bresnahan, (nee Browne), 4 Bow Lane, Dublin. Married 27th May 1914, Dublin.

Child - Denis Bresnahan, born 14th December 1914, Dublin.

18th October 1907, enlisted and posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 4th February 1908, posted 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 26th April 1909 to 12th May 19096, absent; 13th May 1909 in Civil Custody; 14th May 1909, Guard Detention Room; awarded 18 days detention; 2nd June 1909, to Duty; 2nd to 13th February 1910, in Civil Custody awaiting Trial; tried by Civil Power for theft (silver watch & chain value, £2),& sentenced to 42 days with hard labour, 14th February 1910 to 26th March 1910; 27th March 1910, to duty; 31st October 1910, Bordon, overstaying his furlough from Tattoo till 8.55pm 1st November, 8 days confined to Barracks, forfeits 2 days pay; 17th April 1911, Bordon, overstaying his pass from midnight till 1.10am pm 19th April, 8 days confined to Barracks, forfeits 2 days pay; 10th August 1914, appointed unpaid Lance Corporal; 7th September 1914, wounded, Prisoner of War; 6th February 1918, arrived in Holland from Germany for internment; 22nd January 1919, repatriated at Hull & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment.

20th April 1919, discharged  as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to sickness. Silver War Badge issued

Chronic bronchitis, general debility, some vertigo on exertion.
