Private Claude Locks CLEAVER, G/8089,   2nd  Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, killed in action, Mesopotamia Expeditionary Force, 18th April 1916, age 22.

Born Marden, Kent, son of Ellen Agnes Cleaver, of 49, Friday St., Henley-on-Thames, and the late Martin Cleaver, of Wateringbury, Kent.

1911 Census - The Little Hermitage, Wateringbury, Kent - Martin Cleaver, head, age 50. married, farm bailiff, born Marden, Kent; Ellen Agnes Cleaver, wife, age 44, married  21 years, 2 children, both still alive, born Wilderness ? St, Hacking?; Norman Ridley Cleaver, son, age 18, single, clerk, South Eastern Railway, born Marden, Kent; Claud Lock Cleaver, son, age 17, single, jobbing gardener, born Marden, Kent.

Enlisted Bromley, Kent.  Resided Orpington, Kent.

Commemorated at  Basra Memorial, Panel 29, Iraq.
