Private Charles James LAVENDER, G/4061, "C" Company,  7th   Battalion,  Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, killed in action, Flanders, France, 27th September 1916, age 22.

Born Mountfield, Hastings, Sussex, enlisted October 1914, Maidstone, Kent, resided  Maidstone, Kent.

Son of James Lavender, of East View, Gun Farm, Horsmonden, Kent, and the late Adelaide Lavender; husband of Annie Kate Lavender, of 12, Warwick Place, Tonbridge Road, Maidstone, Kent.  

His brother Dennis also fell.

Commemorated at Thiepval Memorial, Pier & Face 11C, France.
