Home, 23rd October 1915 to 2nd May 1916; BEF, 3rds May 1916 to 27th December 1916; Home, 28th December 1916 to 31st January 1918.

23rd October 1915, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 30th October 1915, posted 9th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 30th December 1915, posted 10th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 7th December 1916, tried by General Court Martial, Whilst on Active Service, conduct to the prejudice of good order, carelessly wounding himself, right? arm, guilty, 21 days Field Punishment No.2.; 28th December 1916, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 16th December 1917, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment.

31st January 1918, discharged as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds. Silver War Badge issued

Pension, 27/6 a week from 1st February1918 to 5th March 1918, then 11/- a week to be reviewed in 48 weeks.

17th June 1932, declaration that discharge papers have been lost, "I think they were in a jacket pocket I must have sold at the Marine Stores"
