Enlisted Chichester, Sussex, age 20 years & 10 months, height 5ft 2¼ inches, weight 116lbs. Resided 14 Newgate Road, St. Leonards-on-Sea, Sussex. Formerly milk deliverer.

Home 14th April 1916 to 12th September 1916; BEF 13th September 1916 to 30th March 1918.

4th September 1919, Statement of Relatives - Father, George Plane Clarke, 10 Burry Terrace, Silverhill ; Mother, Martha Clarke; Brother - killed.

Buried at  Doullens Communal Cemetery Extension No.1., V.C.4., Somme, France.
