Private Charles Edward BAILEY, L/5979, 1st  Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, killed in action,  France and Flanders, 22nd March 1915.

Born Trowbridge, Wiltshire.

Previously served in 3rd Battalion Special Reserve, Royal West Kent Regiment.

Enlisted 16th October 1900,  Maidstone,  Kent., age 20, height 5ft 4 inches, weight 124lbs. Formerly labourer.

1908, September Quarter, Maidstone, Kent, married Edith Maud Webb.

22nd May 1919, Statement of Relatives - Widow - Mrs Edith Maud Bailey, 14 Wellington Place, Perryfield Street, Maidstone, Kent; Children - Henry Ernest Bailey, born 5th April 1912; Charles Welford Bailey, born 22nd December 1914. 

Buried at Aeroplane Cemetery, V.C.9., Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
