Enlisted 12th October 1914, Bromley, Kent, age 41, height 5ft 5 inches, weight 124lbs, hazel eyes, brown hair, several moles on back. Formerly labourer.

Previously served 14 years with Manchester Regiment.

Home 12th October 1914 to 6th December 1914; BEF, 7th December 1914 to 5th May 1915.

12th October 1914, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 22nd October 1914, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 1st November 1914, Fort Twydall, absent from Tattoo till 9.30pm on 10th inst, deprived of 6 days pay, forfeits 3 days pay; 7th December 1914, posted 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 22nd February 1915, 85 Field Ambulance, wounded, shell wound scalp; died of wounds about 5th May 1915.

14th January 1920, Memorial Scroll to Mrs S Webb, 321 Croydon Road, Caterham Valley, Surrey.

Commemorated at Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Panel 45 and 47, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
