Born Upton Park, Essex, son of Elizabeth Cuthbert (Mrs. E. Jackson), of 22 St Marys Road, Upton Park, London, E / 43, Waghorn Road, Upton Park, East Ham, London.

Enlisted Neath, Wales, age 19, height 5ft 3inches.  Resided 22 Gelli Street, St Thomas, Swansea, Glamorganshire, Wales. Formerly labourer.

Home 13th November 1914 to 30th April 1915; BEF 1st May 1915 to 21st July 1917.

13th November 1914, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 3rd June 1915, Field, talking n Parade, when ordered not to do so, 7 days confined to Camp; 8th July 1915, Field, throwing tea leaves about the Camp, 7 days confined to Camp; 25th November 1916, posted 6th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 31st March 1915, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 1st May 1915, posted BEF & 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 2ndMay 1915, 5 Infantry Base Depot; 13th May 1915, joined Battalion; 23rd April 1916, to 5 ??????; 27th April 1916, rejoined Battalion, "A" Company.

Buried at  Roclincourt Military Cemetery, I.D.17., Pas de Calais, France.
